“When I was young, my grandfather had a significant, positive impact on my life. I looked to him for wisdom and insights for those many life lessons we all learn and sometimes learn the hard way. I remember learning about the power of investments and, more specifically, the impact investing can have for an individual or family. One time, my grandfather talked with me about the choices we have with our finances. He pointed out that so often we get mesmerized by the newest and shiniest things, but those things wear out, get lost, or broken. Whereas, an investment often has the opposite effect by appreciating, paying dividends, and growing net worth over time. This influenced me greatly. I still have one of grandfather’s old stock certificates hanging on my office wall to remind me of him and his wisdom. I often think of him in my work, and knowing I am contributing to making a positive impact for my clients and families in realizing their goals gives me great joy.”
