The Large-Cap portfolio is an all-equity portfolio seeking long-term capital appreciation by investing in quality businesses at discounted prices. It is primarily focused on companies with market capitalizations greater than $10 billion.
Equities are selected with a systematic discipline based on exceptional, quality fundamentals with a focus on earnings and revenue growth. Our approach, “Quality at a Reasonable Price,” also utilizes a rigorous valuation analysis. Our metrics for reasonable price include price earnings growth ratio (PEG) and enterprise value ratios as part of considering the entire balance sheet in our assessment.
Typically, the Large-Cap portfolio will include 25 companies. We screen the universe of stocks within this sector and evaluate candidates on the following:
- Quality economic model;
- Valuation advantages; and
- Strategic fit for the portfolio.
